Condor Moments singer/keyboardist Richy Midnight is probably the one of the few singers who croons with a baritone which is rather tingly. Having been together for a bit over two decades now, UK’s Condor Moments are bound or at least, should be entitled to get the due they so deserve. And Though We’re Told is proof in the pudding of a band at the helm of a kitchen sink approach but doesn’t fly too far all over the map. Condor Moments toss in ingredients of wobbly baroque pop, jagged chamber jazz time signatures and what appears to be a bestialized take on a neo-classical guile for contemporary musicians. The album is almost cartoon like in the manner in which it transgress with the caffeinated tempos that trail through tinges of drunken sea chanteys, kooky Cabaret affinities and the all out vibrancy of a Gypsy shindig smack dab in the middle of a Lewis Carroll novel.
