We’re Not Happy ‘Til You’re Not Happy

Run-Off Groove

A simple album cover photo gave this some potential, but I’m listening to …And Though We’re Told We’ve Got It All, The All We’ve Got Is Freezing Cold… (What Delicate Recordings) by Condor Moments and… I don’t get it. I’m generally one who enjoys music that most people would not get, and it’s not so much that I don’t get it, I just don’t like it. To me, these guys sound like Jello Biafra if they were fronted by any ordinary alterna- band of the early 1990’s, and it could be better, but it just sounds a bit too ordinary for me. It’s not my fault, nor is it there fault, but I’ve heard it before, the goofy vocalist who tries to show a lot of emotion by doing weird things to his voice. Yeah cool, it has been done before and it doesn’t work. I’m sure it would be better if he didn’t do that shaky thing. The music I like a lot, but the singing was just not to my liking. They can get eclectic and even a bit progressive (if there was ever such a thing as “progressive grunge”, these guys get mighty close) but it’s hard to listen to when the singer is just not someone I would listen to all the time.
